At its event in Delhi today, Sony revealed that the PlayStation 4 will be priced at Rs 39,990 in India. The console will be hitting stores on 6 January, 2014, and is up for pre-order from most online retailers. Interestingly, the PS3 had the same price tag back when it was released in India.
Sony’s PlayStation 4 is the first of the next-gen consoles to make it to India. Microsoft hasn’t revealed anything about a possible release date for the Xbox One, and Nintendo still doesn’t seem to be interested in the country.
Update: The PlayStation 4 Eye Camera will be available for Rs 4,990. If you want to get your hands on an extra DualShock 4 controller, that will also cost Rs 4,990.
The first party launch games - Knack and Killzone: Shadow Fall - will cost Rs 3,999 each.
Sadly enough, Sony India boss Atindrya Bose has stated that a PS4+Vita bundle won't be making it to India for some time.
